THE STORY
Reunited with an old Orbit race car
What came in: This 996 GT3 RS is a Porsche factory race car that was delivered new to Orbit Racing. It was originally purchased by a customer in 2002, and Orbit fielded it in the ALMS and Grand-Am road racing.
Its history: The car raced the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 10-hour Petit Le Mans. In 2002 it was flown to Le Mans as the reserve car for the race.
What we did: Fourteen years later, we were reunited with it, and set out to bring the car back to life exactly as it raced in 2002.
