Orbit Racing's success is due to team owner Rodger Hawley, who blends a lifelong passion for Porsches with a keen engineering talent. His professional operation draws the best in the business – a dedicated crew who know teamwork is the key to victory.
Orbit Racing started the 2004 season in victory lane, with first place in the GT class and second overall in the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The team led the class for 22 hours 23 minutes of the 24-hour race.
In 2003, Orbit also scored an impressive second-place GT finish in the 24 Heures du Mans, after qualifying third. The team has progressed from top-10 finishes to podiums and victory in just three seasons of sports-car racing.
In 2005, Jay Policastro won the IMSA Cup Series sanction by the American Le Mans Series. A partial season was also done in the Grand American Series with Jim Matthews' Daytona Prototype. Karting was also added to the Orbit Racing portfolio of services.
In 2006, Orbit Racing moved into a brand new shop with expanded capabilities. Orbit Racing will be focusing more on upgrading and also campaign cars in the Porsche Club Association, IMSA Cup and other series.
